BIOGRAPHY "CEJAY HELT, OPA With brush in hand.....Cejay took the road less traveled which led to the discovery of "Abstreal Art"! Her unique process, playful realism accentuated by abstraction, is accentuated by the use of composition, design and color. Once you have acquainted yourself with Cejay's biography, the well-spring of creativity in her oeuvre she attributes to God given gifts manifested through artistic license. Born in Iowa but raised in Southern California, Cejay later moved to Utah to raise her family and began studying at Westminster College under Professor Don Doxie later furthering her studies at Scottsdale Artists' School. Tutelage came under noted artists OPA Master, Nancy Seamon Crookston and Casey Childs

Before a painting is conceived she roams the fields of the earth, searching to find the right mixes of light, sound and color. These color combinations are usually fleeting moments due to weather changes which can stir up at any time. The searches may involve days and even weeks. Each canvas conveys some of the highest senses; sight, sound, smell and touch. Only through personal encounters with an original painting can one truly experience third dimension in texture and hue, pleasing the eye and gladdening the heart.
Extensive plein air travels and residencies have convinced Cejay there is "No Place Like Home". Each discovered location represents unusual color characters and memorable dramatic scenes. Colorful memories heavily influence her work. A lively synergy emerges in each piece and personally invites you to step into the painting.
